Scope:
The primary scope of this project was to construct a full depth asphalt exit/entrance ramp for ISTHA personnel to access the new M8 Maintenance Facilityin Aurora, Illinois. The project included 17,000 CY of mass earth excavation, non-special waste disposal,in-situ treatment of lead contaminated soils,construction of an underground detention vault,concrete retaining walls, soldier pile retaining walls,and concrete barriers. The client had a need to openthe paved roadway prior to contract completion.Foundation Mechanics was accelerated to open theramp before original project completion. Due to thesecircumstances, we were rewarded the SBI awardfrom the Illinois Tollway Authority.
