Scope:
Work included removal of an existing WIM system andsubsequent accelerated pavement patching; installation of a new VWIM site and infrastructure including devicepoles with corresponding ground and median foundations, VWIM cabinet, sensors, and loops;installation of new precast pavement slabs with integrated VWIM components; and site restoration.
Challenges:
Having limited weekend closure windows for both accelerated pavement patching as well as coordinatingcrews, equipment, and precast slab delivery to allow forpavement removal, electrical installation, subgraderestoration, setting of 12’x15′ precast pavement slabs,and grouting operations.
