Overview
We removed seven underground storage tanks from the site of a former gas station. The removal process included manifested transport and disposal of tank and piping liquids, sludges, residues, and tank system components. We then backfilled the site with aggregates and performed site restoration services.
Challenges
Due to the site’s previous usage as a gas station, Foundation Mechanics teams needed to test the groundwater and soil for contamination after removing the tanks.
Solutions
We determined the contamination limits, then performed confirmation sampling and testing to verify the removal of all contaminated materials.
