Waukegan Harbor South Pier

The Waukegan Harbor’s south pier required the removal and disposal of miscellaneous steel and broken concrete from the existing structure, followed by the installation of permanent steel forms and cast-in-place concrete for the 780 LF pier. We poured all the concrete in a checkerboard pattern for each monolith.

Foundation Mechanics needed to work closely with the government to develop placement plans and testing procedures that complied with government safety standards.

We completed the project within budget and ahead of schedule, while also satisfying all relevant safety and quality control requirements.
